How to Survive a Long Haul Flight
Have you got a long flight ahead of you? Use these tips to make the time fly by!
The best way to kill time is to sleep. Pack these items in your carry-on bag to get the best plane sleep of your life: a warm blanket, a comfy travel pillow, an eye mask, and earplugs or noise canceling headphones. Also, approximately half an hour before boarding, take a sleep aid (like Zzquil) to help you fall asleep quicker and stay asleep longer.
2) Read/Watch Movies/Listen to Podcasts
Prior to boarding, check to see if your flight has Wi-Fi. If not, download a couple of books, movies, podcasts, and games that do not require an internet connection (Tetris, Ruzzle, etc.) to keep you entertained.
No one wants to travel while hangry. Stock up on snacks and research your airline to find out what food options they serve, especially if you have dietary restrictions. Some airlines offer vegetarian options while others do not. Most flights offer all-you-can -drink-water but research your airline prior to be sure. It is important to stay hydrated while traveling.
If you are a blogger, like me, take some time to write, edit, or brainstorm a few blog posts. While on an 8-hour flight to Hawaii, I managed to write this blog post along with three others.
If you are not a blogger, write a short story, travel diary, or mad libs. This is especially fun when you have kids with you.
