Back to School Shopping (for Childless Adults)

August has quickly rolled around which means one thing: it’s time for back-to-school shopping! Young, childless, and several months post-grad, I have no reason to be in a frenzy this year because I have no school shopping to do! Unfortunately, I cannot fight the temptation that this shopping holiday dangles in front of me. Discounts large enough to rival Black Friday make a shopaholic like myself nearly swoon. If you are like me, you are wondering how to take advantage of the back-to-school season. Here’s a few tips on how to rack up:

Clothes!

The best deals are on jeans and shoes because these are staples in everyone’s wardrobe, especially kids. Stock up on your favorite jeans and sneakers during this season. Brands like Old Navy, Rack Room Shoes, Express, and Lucky Brand Jeans are offering BOGO deals that cannot be beat!

Supplies, Supplies, Supplies

I am a blogger, vlogger, and small business owner so this time of year is perfect for me to stock up on office and desk essentials such as notebooks, planners/agendas, pens, gadgets, etc. Just last month, Best Buy hosted a massive Christmas in July sale making some electronics nearly 50% off!

Tax Free Weekend

Across the US, several states have a tax free weekend in July or August during which school supplies and clothing are tax exempt. Google your state to see when your tax free weekend is and what items it applies to.

Time for a Grocery Haul

Yes, back to school sales also extend to grocery stores. This is a good time to stock up on snacks (cheese sticks, cakes, chips, etc), ziploc bags, and breakfast foods (cereal, yogurt, etc).
