Pattern-Mixing: Easier than I Thought?

Like many others, I have always been intimidated by the pattern-mixing trend. My fear of looking like a mix-matched pair of socks had me opting for a classic white blouse when it came time to play with patterns. I had so many questions but most importantly, I wondered: Which patterns look good together?

After a bit of trial and error, I may have finally gotten the hang of pattern-mixing using two simple rules: 1. Don't be afraid to try odd pattern combinations and 2. Pair large patterns with small patterns and vis versa (i.e. Thick stripes with miniature polka dots or thin stripes with large florals).

While I am still learning, I think it is important to point out that fashion is all about taking risks. If you think something might not look good, try it on anyways.
