5 Reasons to Visit Dallas, Texas
Are you looking to take a trip inside the United States? There’s no shortage of options. Whether it’s the great outdoors or city-life you’re looking for, you’ll find that there are a million and one destinations for you to explore (if not more!). And right at the top of that list should be Dallas. Now, hear us out. While New York or San Francisco might be the city with the loudest calling card for city-lovers, there’s something (well, a few things) about Dallas that makes it the perfect destination. Just take a look at a handful of the plus points we’ve outlined below.
It’s All On Its Own
When we say Dallas is unique, we don’t just mean in the “there’s nowhere like Texas in America” sense. We mean that even within Texas, there’s no place like Dallas. It’s gigantic, for starters, so it lacks some of that “Southern Charm” that makes outsiders fall in love with this corner of the world. But this is no bad thing. Instead, you’ve got a diverse city that is jam-packed with attractions, events, food, and more. Even that doesn’t tell the whole story, however: it really is pretty difficult to categorize. You’ll have to take a trip and see for yourself.
It’s Easily Accessible
There are some destinations that are so difficult to reach, that you need a week there in order to make the journey worth it. Dallas is not one of these destinations. It is easily accessible, in large part because it serves as the hub of American Airlines. As such, it’s one of the busiest airports in the country, and there are many, many flights in and out of the city. Find agreeable flight times, book a hotel near DFW Airport, and you can comfortably visit the city for just a few days. You’ll be able to see all the city’s highlights, without the lengthy and tiring travel times (the airport itself is only twenty minutes or so away from downtown).
There’s A LOT To Do
The truth, however, is that you’ll need more than a few days to do all that the city has to offer. Indeed, you’d be better served if you had a month! You probably won’t have a month, however - just an excuse to come back. Highlights include the aquarium, the botanical gardens, the museum of nature and science, and the Sixth Floor Museum, which is dedicated to the assassination of John F. Kennedy (the trigger was pulled in the same building). And there’s the matter of the sports teams, such as the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys - if you can get tickets to a game, they are well worth checking out.
Shopping and Food Heaven
Need something new for the wardrobe? Then Dallas is the place to buy it. They take shopping pretty seriously in this city, and you’ll find more shopping centers than you know what to do with. Oh, and on the food front, we’ll just say that the Tex-Mex and BBQ food here is to die for.
